A plush comfort weighted lap pad can be used during seated activities such as reading, table exercises and therapy sessions. It can also accompany feeding, doctor appointments, car journeys or playtime. The cotton and plush textures and weighted feel offer a way to explore localised pressure before considering a larger weighted item such as a blanket.
Every person's response to weighted sensory tools is different. Choose how and when to use the pad around the individual user's comfort and needs.
What weight should I choose?
There is no single established weight that is suitable for everyone. Our existing general guideline is a weight up to 10% of body weight, as with a weighted blanket, but this is not an individual recommendation. Ask an occupational therapist or another qualified professional for advice on a suitable weight and use.
Weighted lap pads are generally used for shorter periods. The user should be able to remove the pad and communicate when they want to stop using it. If you are choosing pads for a larger group, consider a range of weights to accommodate different users.

The top layer is 100% cotton with a weight of 260 gsm. The bottom layer is 100% polyester plush, providing a soft alternative texture.
Caring for your plush comfort weighted lap pad
Machine wash at 30°C. Make sure the pad's weight does not exceed your machine's wash-load capacity. Use a low spin and dry flat.
